Ulf works as curator of birds and is in charge of the bird collections at the Swedish Museum of Natural History. He completed is Ph.D. in 2002 on the higher level phylogenetics of birds and have done several postdocs in the US and South Africa. His research interests are mainly focused on the evolution of large scale biogeography patterns and how birds survived the end-Cretaceous mass-extinction.
