Biodiversity conservation at the global scale involves a number of governmental as well as non-governmental parties that meet and negociate to produce international conventions. In this course we will go though the process of dicision making and the actual contents of conventions and treaties governing biodiversity conservation. We will also narrow the scope and talk about EU directives and regulations on nature conservation and their implementation in the Nordic countries. As a bonus you will get familiar with reading and understanding the technical language used in acts related to protection of biodiversity.
